Helping The Bahamas Recover
Suretrader Pledges to Match Donations for Hurricane Dorian Relief
On September 1st, powerful superstorm hurricane Dorian made terrifying landfall in The Bahamas. The monster storm struck two islands in the northern Bahamas as a Category 5 hurricane and stalled over the Abaco Island and Cays and Grand Bahama Island for two days. The destructive winds, torrential rains and relentless flooding have claimed lives and destroyed more than 13,000 houses; up to 60 percent of homes in areas of the Abaco Islands and Grand Bahama have been decimated. Many residents have still not been seen or heard from since Sunday.
Hurricane Dorian was the strongest hurricane to ever make landfall in the northern Bahamas with winds that were estimated to be up to 185 mph and gusts over 225 mph.
Many concerned clients have reached out and asked how they could help residents of The Bahamas in the rescue, recovery and rebuilding efforts, and we would like to share the options and ways in which you can assist.
